The original Pfister faucet valve uses a plastic or nylon nut which your almost sure to screw up removing when replacing the valve. This is identical to the original nut ‘sept it’s brass.. Much more better and will save you time and a lot of cussing when you see how screwed up you get the original during removal. Came quickly and in great shape. Hey it’s a brass threaded nut, I’d be really surprised if it didn’t arrive in good condition. Throw that old cruddy nylon nut in the trash and rejoice with the ease of installing this good ‘un.

mieux que celui d’origine en plastique

This replaced the nylon nut that holds the cartridge down in my single handle Price Pfister faucet. It is much better than the nylon factory nut.

This is the replacement ring for the plastic one that holds part 9740350 Genesis 26 Series Cartridge Sub Assembly in place in my kitchen faucet. Worked flawlessly, and after replacing ring, cartridge, and the two square rubber O rings, part 950-910, my 15-year old faucet no longer leaks.

It is impossible to remove the plastic retainer nut without damaging it from the Price Pfister kitchen faucet. The PF instructions simply say “remove the retainer nut”. This is sort of like STEP 1: build a house. It really is inexcusable that PF does not use a metal retainer nut to begin with. Or, PF should at least include a removal tool. (There is actually a removal tool for the plastic retainer nut, available on pfisteroutlet.com. But, reviews seem to say it may or may not work well.) PF, in its instructions, does not even mention that a removal tool exists. In any case, when removing the old plastic retainer nut, you will inevitable ruin it. SO, get this metal replacement retainer nut. It will make any future repairs easy.

This item replaces the cheesy nylon retainer nut originally in a Price Pfister kitchen single-handle faucet valve. It is tough and durable and installed easily. Getting the old one off without having it just fall apart was the scary part. I’m not sure if the problem with the new cartridge design, shutting itself off with the weight of the lever, is due to this retainer nut not clamping down hard enough on the cartridge. But I generally like metal over plastic, and this was the recommended action from Price Pfister. But do see my review of the Price Pfister 974-035 cartridge elsewhere here.

I ordered this nut which was suppose to fit my Price-Phister tub faucet, however the diameter was to small for my particular faucet so I had to return it, I am sure it is a perfect fit for other Price-Phister faucets.

This brass retainer nut is a great replacement and upgrade for the original equipment nylon/plastic nut.
I easily replaced the faucet cartridge, but found that I could not adequately tighten the nylon retainer nut. The threads were damaged.
I coated the brass retainer nut with plumbers grease to assure no future corrosion. The new installation is brass on brass vs the old part being nylon on brass.
CAUTION: DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE BRASS RETAINER NUT. Tighten only enough so that there is no water leakage.
