Easy to change. Do not even have to turn off the water. Not sure why something so simple goes bad. I have had to replace this part several times over 10 years. Otherwise it works perfectly.

Easy replacement within minutes, having a couple of tools makes the job much easier. (I used a cresent wrench and a pair of needle nose pliers.) Trick to removal of old unit is to depress a small locking ring while simultaneously pulling on hose. This can be a little tricky using fingers alone so I used the jaws of a crescent wrench to depress the ring. Adjust the wrench to loosely fit over the hose then press the sides of the jaws against the locking ring to depress and you can easily pull out the old hose. Needle nose pliers were used to pull and install a locking spring. If you have good dexterity and finger strength you might be able to install it without tools.
