   I can’t comment on the replacement valve stems, as I only purchased this for the taps themselves. Hopefully I won’t know for 20-years or more whether they are a good replacement.

   The taps themselves are weighty and seem to be well made. They are porcelain, so be careful you dont drop them. Everything was packaged well and I found them to be easy to install though the instructions aren’t very clear. I’d recommend these taps to anyone looking for a higher quality shower/bath tap set with a bit of classic styling, I just wish they were sold separate of a full valve replacement kit.

   This is an inexpensive, appealing alternative to the ubiquitous 1970s Price Pfister bathtub faucet handle design aesthetic. I did not have the short stem cover issue that others have reported but can see how that might be a problem with some applications. To do the job correctly, you will need a faucet seat wrench, which is not included. The hardest part for me was removing the old hardware, I had to borrow an angle grinder to cut the corroded metal handles off.

   First, shut your water off at the main; also, be mindful of which valve cartridge goes on the left and on the right. I zoned out, mixed the two up and then had to re-do everything.

   This was a direct replacement for a Price Pfister cartridges and diverter. Very easy to install,just make sure you have the right tools. Our old cartridges were probably original to the home that was built in the 70s. One of the porcelain handles fell of and cracked. I didn’t want to replace the entire valve system from the rear so this was a great option. I tried using a large flat head screwdriver to remove the compression seats and the seat stsrted to strip very easily. It was soft and brittle. I ended up buying a seat wrench and they popped out no problem. I had a cartridge socket wrench that ended up being the right size to open the cartridge but not actually remove it from the wall. Once I had the right size wrench everything was easy. Parts look great. Everything was included in the kit that I needed for a complete replacement, except the tools. I included a picture in case you want a better idea of what comes in the box.

   Finally I bought the right part, I don’t like that it’s Crome but it has been so difficult to find all the right pieces so it is what it is. Also the threaded piece that the flang slides onto doesn’t stay. I think I will still have to silicone the flang on but at least it had one that fit and that will make it water tight

   – this tub shower kit includes 2 hot cold stems “910-013” – kit includes 1 diverter stem “910-022” – includes 3 seats “970-500” Price Pfister makes quality bath and shower kits and the parts can be found at Home Depot. It’s great to find a brand that makes a quality item that doesn’t need to be special ordered. It took me a while to figure out what stem and handle I had and what I was going to need. The box for this tub and shower remodeling kit doesn’t explain what item numbers you’re getting… so please do yourself a favor and look at the picture in my review where you can see a photo of the exact items included in the kit. With the right tools you can easily uninstall the old handle/stem/seat you have and replace it with the ones in this kit. I recommend a 31/32” shower valve socket wrench (husky makes one that fits 29/32 and 31/32 in hex valves. Got mine at HD for $8). Also recommend a seat wrench. I like the husky T handle faucet seat wrench. Can also be found at HD for $19.) get some Oatey’s plumber’s putty too and you’re good to go!
