   This unit has been built to the highest of quality, but….it has no mounting point so I had to add clamps, if that is how its supposed to be mounted, then they should have came with it.

   For the price, this hard to beat. It looks good and works like a champ. Nobody offers anything even close at this price and it is a major brand with a lifetime warranty. I was not really trying for the chrome finish but the exact same model with the brushed nickel is almost $100 higher. I made it work with the chrome! It is very well built and the chrome hardware is very heavy duty. I am very happy with this.

   Even though I returned this because I inadvertently ordered this 4-port and needed a 3-port unit, it sure felt like a very good quality piece. Nice and heavy – no rattling/loose parts when I was examining it. The finish on the unit I got was superior – no waves or blemishes that I saw. I’d have kept it except for not being able to use it in the application I needed it for.

   I used this valve to divert the water from my primary shower head to the overhead (rain) head, and back. You have to cap one of the ports of this diversion valve, but it wasn’t obvious which port to cap. I blew into the ports and changed the valve direction until I figured out which one needed to be capped. I had already assembled my shower valve and shower head when I decided to modify. I cut the copper leading to the shower head and inserted the valve. The blue line on the left now goes to the overhead and the red line on the right goes to the main head. Hope this helps!

   Can’t find something cheaper, it worked perfectly. Installed without any problems. I was worried about because remember; you get what you pay for, but this was the exception. Lower price, great quality. Only issue was that don’t come with a way to support the valve. In my case I used Cooper pipe straps.

    The project was to add a handheld sprayer to an existing fiberglass tub/shower unit on a low budget. This is the only purchase option I found on pfisteroutlet.com for less than $50 where the chrome trim and recessed valve are sold together. This diverter valve has 4-ports and 1- 1/2″ threaded brass plug is supplied to block off the unused port. The front end of the shower wall was accessible from the opposite side. The sheetrock was cut to access the 1/2″ PEX piping to the existing upper shower head. A hole saw was used to drill a hole for mounting the diverter valve, and a 2nd hole for the $20 Weirun_G-80210 handheld sprayer hose connector & head holder. When installed, the 1/2″ PEX water supply was piped to the bottom port and 1/2″ brass male adapter. The top port was plugged using the supplied 1/2″ threaded brass plug. From the back, the left side port was piped to the handheld wall connector, and the right to the existing shower head. A 2X4 wood brace was added between wall studs to secure the diverter valve piping. The entire project cost about $70 that included the Pfister 015-38BC diverter valve, Werun sprayer connector/holder, 3 – 1/2″ male PEX adapters, 1 – 1/2″ PEX 90 ell, 5 ft – 1/2″ PEX pipe, 1/2″ cinch rings. No water leaks were found. The sheetrock removed for access was re-used to close the hole, joints taped, sanded, and painted. Mixing chrome fittings with existing brushed nickel was not very noticeable, and not justified to spend $100’s+ to change the trim.
