Lasts about a 2 years so buy a few. The mechanism that cuts the water on and off is a mechanical fluke. If I had not paid $200 for my kitchen faucet I would have thrown it in the trash by now due to the amount of items in it that wear out every year or two.

I was thrilled to find this because it matches the colorof the old one exactly. Apparently the old ones have a tendency to eventually split along the seam and start leaking. This one is a solid piece though, without that seam.
It’s still a plastic sprayer with a thin coating that looks like rubbed bronze, but it gets the job done.
The picture shows that countertop mount (on the bottom) which is not included. This item is just the sprayer and the hose.

I previously bought a generic sprayer to replace original sprayer that was sticking open. I could not get the generic sprayer to stop leaking. Perfect match to existing faucet and very simple to install, 60 seconds or less. There is a trick to removing an existing sprayer hose from the diffuser – you need to push the gray ring on the diffuser toward the diffuser while you pull the hose stem away from the diffuser. This replaced the original sprayer that started leaking along the front seam.
