This holder is solidly made and very easy to install. The directions are very clear. The stem holding the toilet paper is angelled so there is no chance of the roll falling off. The finish is a polished chrome. I am happy with the purchase.

I did five bathrooms in a luxury vacation rental with the Ashfield chrome hardware. I have had to change all of the toilet paper holders out. As others have mentioned, the ring will not stay together. I can not figure out how they designed this so poorly or why it won’t stay together. I am very unhappy now that I have mismatched hardware in such an expensive home and I am apparently out the money for these items because I am past the return date. Do not use this item in any bathroom that gets moderate use, perhaps only in a guest bath that is rarely used.

Changed all the roll holders to this style. They are so much easier!

We’ve had this holder in our main bathroom for five years and the arm finally loosened at the pivot joint. GOOD NEWS…The product is WELL BUILT and EASILY RETIGHTENED once you know the steps to follow. Use a small flat blade screwdriver to gently pop off the button cover on the wall mounting hub. Use a medium (#2) Phillips screwdriver to remove the brass mounting screw and remove the hub from the wall bracket. Find the tiny set screw on the bottom of the pivot joint and remove it with a small flat blade screwdriver. Gently turn and pull the pivot arm straight out of its mount, Make sure the black “O” ring stays on the arm and set the arm aside. Use the medium Phillips screwdriver to retighten the exposed brass screw that holds the pivot joint to the wall mounting hub. Take care not to overtighten/strip the brass screws. Reinsert the pivot arm, install the set screw and check that the arm mount is tight, but the arm pivots. Place the mounting hub back on the wall bracket and secure with the brass Phillips head screw. Push the button back on the mounting hub and enjoy your holder for many more years.

Looks good. However, it tends to fall apart frequently with normal use.
