Though the bracket looks similar to the towel rod, it actually sits a little higher. So rather than lining up the screw holes for the hook with the screw holes for the towel rod, the installer should have lined up the top edge of the three brackets, then marked the holes. Otherwise, very sturdy. Can hang a lot of stuff from the hook. Base plates should be made from a sturdier metal.
