I will not take off stars for the fact that you need to buy the extra valve because Pfister clearly lists this fact in the description. However, I overlooked that fact when I ordered because this set is so nice looking. Now I am in deep because my handy man cannot install so I’m looking at a plumber coming out and the extra purchase of the valve. I will say that this set is very nice looking, I was worried the chrome would not be as nice as the brushed nickel but I would say it’s even nicer looking. The spray head is large and feels modern in design and I love the spout.

This Pfister Saxton Tub and Shower Trim Kit in Polished Chrome has a very nice and uniform finish to it. The polished chrome is a bright and shiny silver color as compared to darker chrome finishes that I have seen.
It is at mid tier price point and reflects this in quality. I am not sure why they opted to not include the valve with this kit as most people will need to purchase both. But like most plumbing supply houses it comes in separate components. The Pfister 0X8310A OX8 series Tub/Shower Rough Valve is what matches up with these trim kits. It is currently around $55. It has the pressure balancing cartridge included.
I think it has a nice feel to it. It looks good too. Nice clean lines and a classic feel. 4 solid stars.

Disclosure: It is installed in my home but I did not install it myself and don’t know anything about installation.
I am currently renovating my home & business and I have my husband and a crew of guys installing everything for me. I asked how installation for this product went and got “standard.. pretty basic” for an answer so I assume that meant easy install. I do know however that they had to buy an additional piece for it and they said that anyone who installed it would need to have this piece they bought, which is just a valve. It looks and works great, not cheap looking at all. I give it a 4 star review even though it is a great item because it didn’t contain this valve. I recommend it highly but be prepared to buy a water valve with it if you don’t already have one. The guys said they thought that the price on a set this nice was this low because the valve wasn’t included and the set itself is a much higher quality set.
