   Arrived promptly. Perfect fit. No complaints with the part. Problem solved. My error was that I forgot that PF guarantees these parts for life and I could have gotten the part from PF free if I had remembered that detail. Oh well lesson learned.    It may be my building’s water pressure, I’m not sure. But I replace these about ONCE A YEAR! To date, I’ve replaced 3 of these already. Every time, the old cartridge is cracked along the seams (where the two mirrored pieces meet). The cartridge really NEEDS to be made of one piece instead to avoid any unnecessary weak points. Instead the two pieces are joined by metal rivets that fasten or tighten it.

   One possible solution is to use screws/bolts system that tightly locks the two pieces together. Another possibility is just make the thing out of metal so it doesn’t bend/break so easily. Either way, it always seems to split down the middle. I live on the 24th floor of a high rise building. Possibly the water pressure in my building is too high in order to move the water up all those floors. Either way, hot water, plastic, and high pressure doesn’t mix well.

   On the plus side, these are easy enough to replace. Simply turn off the water, unscrew the pipe panel (4 screws depending on your shower) and pull out the old one and replace.

   Just like original that lasted 11 years, be sure you get all O-rings in properly or it will leak. Pfister discontinued these in there new faucets, might want to get a spare, over time the plastic is going to distort from the hot water and cause the item to stick or freeze up internally

   The only reason that I did not give a 5 star rating, is for pricing and quality. The pricing of this little valve is outrageous and this is the second one I had to purchase within a couple of years. The shower handle that this came out of is only used when we have overnight company, which is rare. It is discouraging, but all-in-all, it is still cheaper than ripping out the shower wall to replace the entire assembly.

   These plastic pieces can’t seam to maintain seal for long. it worked for a few days and then started leaking again, almost worse than the one I replaced. Ended up asking manufacturer to send me single unit replacement for free under warranty instead of this, one of two-piece original replacement. Got this one because shipping was faster than from manufacturer and wanted to stop leak and use tub without shutting of water supply. Temporary fix.

   Been trying for years to get hot enough water to my shower. Kept blaming our tankless hot water heater. Wrong. The hot water side of this little device was nearly clogged. New one fixed the problem right away. Thinking of ordering a spare to keep with my assorted plumbing parts, just in case.
